OBJECTIVES

GOALS FOR HAXSTRONG

 

Haxstrong is working on the following goals which will help us to better serve the international community in Taiwan. We welcome ideas and support from anyone who feels they can help us with achieving these goals.

1. BUILDING TEAMS AROUND TAIWAN

We are looking to build core teams in each city in Taiwan of around 4 to 6 people. The teams will consist of:

  • Response & Support Team
  • Researchers
  • Haxstrong Representatives
  • Fundraising Team

 

2. COMMUNITY RESOURCE DATABASE

Haxstrong is currently building a comprehensive database of resources and organizations that will benefit the international community in Taiwan. This will launch around the end of 2017. People will also be able to add any information they have found that may be beneficial to others in the community.

 

3. MAKE CONNECTIONS & RAISE AWARENESS

Contact and meet various organizations, professional bodies, and knowledgeable & connected people in the community. E.g.

  • Hospitals & clinics
  • Legal professionals
  • Immigration & Foreign Affairs Police
  • Other organizations assisting the international community
  • Schools & businesses employing foreign workers
  • Trade & representative offices
  • Chambers of commerce

 

4. MEMBERSHIP & DONATIONS

Haxstrong is looking at a number of ways to raise funds for the running of the charity from private individuals and corporate sponsorship.

 

5. COMMUNITY CENTERS

We are planning to open drop-in centers in Kaohsiung first and then later in Taichung. These locations will provide us with a physical space where we can meet people, discuss things openly or privately and offer advice and information. The centers will also arrange various activities, discussion groups, classes and information sessions related to and of importance to the international community.

 

6. COMMUNITY OUTREACH CAMPAIGNS & PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

We are working on a number of projects and campaigns to bring important information and announcements that will benefit the community in different ways. These include and are not limited to:

  • Blood Donation
  • Drink Driving
  • Driving License & Vehicle Insurance
  • Health Screenings
  • Health & Well-Being
  • Immigration Issues
  • Medical Insurance (NHI & Private Medical Insurance)
  • Mental Health Awareness
  • First Aid Response
  • General Resources Available to International Residents

 

7. PUBLICATIONS

We are developing a number of information booklets, leaflets and guidelines that provide information on a number of important areas relevant to the international community. These will be available in print and digital versions. These include and are not limited to:

  • Hospitals: Advice On Visiting / Staying in Hospitals in Taiwan
  • Traffic Accidents: A Step By Step Guide On What To Do If You Have One & What to Expect
  • Mental Health & Well-Being: Maintaining a Balance / Seeking Help
