Taiwan is a beautiful location with literally hundreds of things to do just in the Nanzi District alone. Below are a few suggestions for your viewing pleasure.
BRITISH CONSOLATE CULTURAL PARK:
The British Consulate Cultural Park is a historical park with lots of cultural things to do such as visit and tour the site, go on a Yacht, or have an afternoon tea at the Consulate Residence. The topics below will tell you about many more tourists locations like the one just listed, with a brief overview on each.
LIUHE NIGHT MARKET:
The Liuhe Night Market, near Kaohsiung MRT Formosa Boulevard Station, is crowded during the day but becomes a lively night market. In just a few hundred feet, there are approximately 200 stalls where you can taste snacks, shop, watch a movie, and experience authentic culture.
LAMBAI ISLAND:
A ferry ticket to Lambai Island is just $11.53 for an adult and $6.55 for a child. On the island you can see a coral reef, the famous “Vase Stone”, and the “Beauty Cave”, in addition to swimming in waters with a breathtaking landscape, or go snorkelling in “Clam Bay.”
QIMEI MUSEUM:
Qimei Museum is a beautiful place to visit and take photos, have a picnic, visit the souvenir shop or even enjoy a Starbucks coffee.
SUZUKA CIRCUIT PARK:
Suzuka Circuit Park is a great location for families, especially those that love racing, young or old. Before leaving, you can even get a driving license for the attractions. The wait times can be a bit lengthy, but the venue is clean, large and spacious.
LOVE RIVER:
The Love River has many sections to visit with great scenery and beautiful views. You can take a walk in the breeze or have dinner at night. You can also go shopping there. And, for a livelier atmosphere, you just go to the other side of the river, and it is like you are in a different world.
PIER2 ART CENTER:
The Pier2 Art Center is located on the bank of the Love River in Kaohsiung City, next to Kaohsiung Port. The park has huge dolls of different styles. One eye-catching one is a yellow Transformer doll, that appeared in the May Day “DNA concert”. It is also a beautiful place to take pictures where many people are flying kites, riding horses, shopping, or visiting the library. The works of the art creators are exhibited everywhere, and it is spectacular to look at. It even has a cinema and restaurant food.
FO GUANG SHAN TOURS:
Fo Guang Shan Tours is a famous Buddhist resort where university is also established. There is a temple here with a magnificent scale, stunning architecture, and many Golden Buddha statues can be seen with stunning shapes. There are also places where you can have snacks and eat meals. You could literally spend the whole day walking around and observing the atmosphere and exhibitions.
DOME OF LIGHT:
The Dome of Light is located on the ground floor of the MRT in Formosa. It was painted by the renowned artists Maestro Narcissus Quagliata. The work depicts people in the world from birth to reincarnation and emphasizes “love and tolerance.” The dome took almost 4 years to complete and is very large taking up 660 m². It is extremely colorful and beautiful.
ANPING OLD FORT:
Anping Old Fort has lots of history and must-see attractions. Anping Castle was built in 1624 and its multiple houses are made of red bricks and tiles. It is especially beautiful when sunlight reflects on it. It has depictions of Taiwan history and the building walls that is very detailed and easy to understand. It is also thought to be the oldest castle and time on and has been the centre of Dutch rule over Taiwan, along with being the residents of three generations of the Zheng Dynasty.
E-DA THEME PARK:
The E-DA Theme Park is the first Greek-themed amusement park in Taiwan. It is divided into three themed areas and houses more than 50 facilities. The “City of David” is at the entrance of the park and is in the shape of an ancient Greek temple. The E-Da Royal Theater as over 1800 luxurious seats and ceilings that are extremely high, which are decorated with Greek constellations. The second theme is “Santorini Mountain City” which replicates the Greek love see and white mountain city. It has numerous specialty shops and restaurants with exotic food. The third theme is “Troy Castle” which represents the Trojan horse massacre. Together, these attractions make a varied and wonderful experience.

In addition to above, you can visit Cijin Island, Zhongdu Wetlands Park, Anping Tree House, Sicao Green Tunnel, Sicao Wetland Reserve, Fort Provintia, Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, Hamasen, Garden Night Market, Sizihwan Scenic Area, Da Tien Hou Gong Temple, Ten Drum Cultural City, Dream Mall, Hayashi Department Store, Tainan Art Museum, Science and Technology Museum, Sky Tower, Taijiang Park, Kaohsiung Port, Lotteworld Aquarium, Tainan Art Museum 11, National Museum of Marine Biology, Qijin Coastal Park, Rainbow Church, Ruifeng Night Market, Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area, Confucius Temple, and Lotus Pond just to name a few.
As you can see the list is quite substantial and there are literally thousands of things to do in this area. The scenery is breathtaking, the cultural experience is amazing, the architecture and art works are extraordinary, and beauty is all around. You should never get bored or run out of things to do in this extraordinary landscape with magnificent man-made structures.
